Spilling it All

Dilapidated debris fills my mouth foul,
my gums, my tongue secrete
that familiar metallic tang
and I’m instantly packed with the pang
of admitting it all
while you just gently let it fall
to our feet
and so we leave it there
to well up, bloat, disintegrate, deteriorate.
